Welcome!

Thank you for visiting my website. I am excited about the opportunity to run for the office of Register of Deeds. For the first time in over twenty years, there will be a newly elected Register in Hampshire County. I want to build on the traditions of the office as I manage the changes that will come in the future.

The Registry of Deeds records all documents related to the ownership of property. Protecting the integrity of these records is its most important job because it means protecting your property. I am running because I have the management skills and experience to ensure that integrity is preserved, to protect the investment you have made in your home and in Hampshire County.

When you visit my site you’ll learn information about the Registry, the issues and find out about my personal history. You can get updates on the campaign and find ways you can contribute and help prepare for Election Day 2012.

I invite your questions and comments through this website or my email at: mary@maryolberding.com

I look forward to seeing you on the campaign trail and earning your vote on September 6th!

The Registry of Deeds

The Registry of Deeds has been maintaining records since the founding of Hampshire County in 1662.  The records housed there date back to 1787. The function of the Registry is to collect, maintain, and preserve the permanent records of property ownership and make those records publicly available to residents of the Commonwealth and beyond using the internet.  The Registry has recently successfully transitioned to digitized records making it easier to access and use these valuable historical records.
